Cocoa Emacs
A while ago Gareth Jones tweeted how to install (GNU) Cocoa Emacs using Homebrew. Although concise, this is't enough for Spotlight to see it as an app (at least on my machine), which can be annoying if you use Spotlight as an app launcher.
Creating a symbolic link from /Applications/Emacs.app to /usr/local/Cellar/emacs/23.3/Emacs.app doesn't appear to make the Spotlight indexer happy. Neither does creating an alias in Finder, to either Emacs or Emacs.app. I had resigned myself to having to use the (mouse and) Dock launcher, but it turns out that having both Emacs and Emacs.app aliases seems to work.
Weird.
